About ExpressBizTools
ExpressBizTools is a free website for people who run a small business: calculators for pricing, tax, cash flow and stock; plain-English guides on invoicing, inventory, point of sale and payment fees; and a simple browser app for keeping products, invoices and customers in one place. It is built and run by DixonAppStudio LLC, an independent software studio in Elgin, South Carolina, United States.
Who is behind it
DixonAppStudio LLC is a small studio that makes calculators, utility apps and games for the web, iPhone and Android. ExpressBizTools is written, built and maintained in-house. We are not accountants, lawyers or a payment processor, and nothing on the site is tax, legal or financial advice. Where a question needs a professional — a tax filing, a lease, a processor contract — the page says so.
What you will find here
Twelve calculators — profit margin, markup versus margin, sales tax, break-even, card processing fees, reorder point, inventory turnover, late fees, cash-flow runway, discount break-even, hourly rate and customer lifetime value. Each runs in your browser, shows the formula it uses and explains what the answer means.
About forty guides on the day-to-day work of a small shop: writing receipts and invoices, counting stock, choosing a point-of-sale setup, cutting card fees, managing suppliers and forecasting cash. And buying guides for counter hardware — barcode scanners, receipt and label printers, cash drawers and card readers — that explain what to look for before you buy.
The browser app
The inventory, invoicing and customer screens run in your browser. The records you type — products, invoices, customers, suppliers — are saved in your browser's own storage on the device you are using, not on our servers. That keeps them private, but it also means clearing your browser data removes them, so download a backup from the More screen regularly. Creating an account is optional; if you sign in, we store your email address and the list of pages you recently opened so they follow you between devices.
How the site is paid for
The calculators, guides and app are free to use. The site is supported by advertising from Google AdSense, by commissions from Amazon when someone buys through a product link on a buying guide, and by a small shop of spreadsheet templates sold through Stripe. Advertisers and retailers have no say over what we write, and no company can pay to be recommended.
What we will not do
We will not publish invented reviews, testimonials, ratings or user counts; tell you a processor or product is the best when we have not checked; or present an estimate as a guarantee. ExpressBizTools is our own product, and when a guide mentions it alongside other options we say so. If you find a page that falls short of this, email us and we will fix it.
